c1870 Portuguese Colonial Rosewood Secretary

This antique Portuguese colonial rosewood secretary, circa 1870, can be used as a writing desk, bookcase or cabinet bar.   Features a rectangular cornice which gives way to a plain frieze above double doors with glazed panels which form the bookcase.   Vertical fall front has a smooth writing surface and original working lock and new key.   Fall front encloses a fitted interior of six drawers with three large cubby holes.  Behind two of the drawers are additional hidden drawers with string loop handles.   Top doors close nicely and have a working lock, but the bolt no longer catches to lock the doors.   Bottom left door has its original locking brass pins at top and bottom.   Side support columns are fluted with acanthus leaf brackets on paw-like fluted feet.

c1880 Anglo-Indian Teakwood & Glass Enclosed Bookcase

This is an antique Anglo-Indian bookcase made from teak wood, circa 1880. It features an elaborate flower and leaf scroll crown on a slim molded cornice, which rests on double door glazed panels that end in wooden panels in the lower half. Side supports are cut away to form insets with two plain turned columns resting on a plinth base with turned feet.   Recently restored, this piece is just magnificent. Newly cut stainless key and working lock.   Original metal (likely brass) dangling door pulls and locking brass pins on both top and bottom of left door.

Measures 39″ wide by 62″ high by 14″ deep.

c1880 Portuguese Glazed Door Teakwood Bookcase

This antique Portuguese teakwood bookcase dates from circa 1880. Features a molded cornice with rigid design slits on a floral carved frieze.   Glass panel double doors feature a simple grooved design. The cornice design is reflected on the bottom plinth, which rests upon bun feet.   Five shelves.   Original brass tear drop handle and working lock with key.

Measures 50″ wide by 80″ tall by 19″ deep.

This bookcase features a rectangular molded cornice above a plain frieze with carved floral designs that form the tops of the door panels. Half-turned pilasters decorate the left and right sides. Plinth base with padded feet.
